Wireless electronics
for care environments.

Hardware, microcontroller firmware and validation work for a next-generation wireless nurse-call ecosystem.

01 / OVERVIEW

Care-oriented electronics need attention to physical use, communication behaviour and the details of the device itself.

02 / THE CHALLENGE

Where the engineering
gets interesting.

Wireless nurse-call and sensing products bring together embedded firmware, RF communication, enclosure design and product testing. Hardware and software need to be developed with that shared context.

03 / MY CONTRIBUTION

The work I brought
to the system.

01

Wireless product hardware

Contributed to electronic product development for a next-generation wireless nurse-call ecosystem and related healthcare electronics.

02

Microcontroller firmware

Developed embedded firmware for ATMEL microcontrollers using Arduino and C / C++, alongside communication and device-integration work.

03

Radar and RF investigation

Worked with radar / RF communication and fall-detection development, connecting sensor behaviour to embedded product requirements.

04

Physical validation and production support

Conducted water-ingress testing toward IP67 requirements and supported product testing, documentation and design-for-manufacture work.

04 / VALIDATION

Check the behaviour.

My work included hardware debugging, firmware checks and physical testing of the product enclosure. Water-ingress testing formed part of checking the design against IP67 requirements.

  • ATMEL firmware development
  • Wireless and sensing integration
  • Water-ingress and product testing

05 / OUTCOME & REFLECTION

What the work adds up to.

Contributed hardware, firmware and test work to the wireless nurse-call development program. My contribution connected electronic design, embedded behaviour and physical product validation.

The device enclosure and the embedded software are part of the same product. Testing the physical and electronic behaviour together helps reveal problems that are easy to miss when each is treated separately.
