SAM UDAYANGA / MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA

Engineering,
from circuit
to system.

Smart energy & IoT product engineer.

I bring hardware, embedded firmware and connected systems together — from PCB design and prototype debugging to device communication, Linux controllers and product validation.

02 / ENGINEERING TOOLKIT

Across the board.
Down to the bit.

Tools matter most when they help connect an engineering decision to something you can measure.

01 / FIRMWARE & LINUX

Software that understands
the hardware.

  • C / C++ · Python · embedded C
  • STM32 · ATMEL · Mbed OS · FreeRTOS
  • AM62x · Yocto · Linux · Redis
  • Target deployment & peripheral integration

02 / HARDWARE & PRODUCT

From a schematic
to a physical product.

  • Altium · Eagle · 2–6 layer PCBs
  • Mixed-signal design & power electronics
  • SolidWorks · Fusion 360 · prototyping
  • Bring-up · validation · DFM support

03 / SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Making the whole
system work together.

  • CAN · Modbus · RS485
  • UART · SPI · I²C · RF communication
  • BMS / inverter & rectifier integration
  • Test jigs · bench tools · technical documentation

03 / THE JOURNEY

Hands-on engineering.
A wider product view.

My career began in electronics in 2016. At Kasper, I progressed through engineering and leadership roles. Since moving into Australian product development, I’ve worked across wireless care electronics, energy storage and embedded Linux control.

04 / HOW I WORK

Follow the problem.
Check the result.

A practical process shaped by prototype labs, product teams and time spent finding out why a device behaves the way it does.

  1. 01 / UNDERSTAND

    Start at the system.

Understand the use case, interfaces and physical constraints before choosing a solution.

  2. 02 / BUILD

    Connect the layers.

Bring electronics, firmware, mechanics and application behaviour into the same conversation.

  3. 03 / VERIFY

    Make it observable.

Use measurements, device feedback and repeatable checks to test assumptions.

  4. 04 / REFINE

    Close the loop.

Follow issues through implementation, document what changed and verify the target again.

05 / EXPLORE THE DETAILS
